Dear Colleague
As you know, all OOPEs now need to be approved by PMETB. Applications should come via the deanery and go to them with a letter of support from us. However, they also need to have the following documentation with it, over and above the standard OOPE form available on our website (which we will be revamping shortly). In a nutshell, this is a letter of approval from the College- not just ticking the box on the OOPE form- AND if abroad, documentation that the post is recognised for training there.
I have extracted the relevant information verbatim below for you.
Many thanks for you help,
Best wishes
Selena

- A statement from the competent authority in the country where the OOPE will take place which details the purpose and structure of the post to the satisfaction of the Deanery and the College.
- If the documentation outlined above is not provided, then a brief description of the OOPE post which covers the following points: a) where the OOPE is based, b) the structure of the OOPE, c) the educational goals and characteristics of the OOPE, and d) confirmation that the post is subject to quality management in line with PMETB requirements.
