Peninsular trainees finally have a chance to blow away our non-Renal GIM colleagues in public. GIM training days will now include four 10 minute presentations by trainees with the winner being decided by some manner of public vote. Good luck. Peninsular GIM

The newly minted Exit Exam Knowledge Based Assessment Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) is now open for applications until 23rd Feb 2009. There’s more info about the application process at the MRCP website. Here is a copy of the curriculum. SCE Curriculum There still seems to be a fair abount of FUD circulating about whether SpRs expecting to finish alongside the ST trainees will be disadvantaged if they don’t have the exam. As you can tell from the lower-case e in the title of this post, our trainers are not afraid of using 21st century asssessment methods. If you are an ST trainee with a dislike of paper then email Severn Deanery tech whizzkid Matthew Hill (Matthew.Hill@southwest.nhs.uk) with the following information: Name GMC Number Level of Study Email address Hospital/Trust Specialty and he will sort you out with an ePortfolio. Old-school SpRs need not apply at the present time.
